3 Quick Tips for a Gorgeous Thanksgiving Tablescape

Hosting Thanksgiving this year? Does setting the table send you into a minor panic attack every time you think about it?! Okay, that might be a bit dramatic, but you get the idea. Hosting is stressful, I get it. But I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful! I’m all about simplicity and I’ve compiled a few quick tips to throw together a gorgeous holiday tablescape in no time. Your guests will be wowed and you’ll be kicking your feet up with an extra slice of pumpkin pie at the end of the day!

The best part – you don’t have to spend a fortune to have an show-stopping table! Girl, if you’re anything like me, you’ve spent a few too many "dollars" in the Target Dollar Spot each time a new holiday rolls out (oh wait, just me? =/) It’s time to let those mini pumpkins shine, my friend! And if you want to know my secret for not having to do the dishes after, you’re gonna wanna keep reading.

Keep It Simple

As I said before, this doesn’t have to be a table fit for a queen. Just your fave people – mom, dad, hubby, brothers, sisters, kiddos… I don’t know your guest list, but you get the idea! Don’t go out and spend a fortune on table decorations. Use what you already have – I had this fall-inspired garland with pine cones & faux leaves from Target a couple years back, along with a set of fake pumpkins. If you don’t have something along those lines, head outside! Go collect some pretty fall colored leaves and a handful or two of pine cones. Scatter across the center of your table. If you’re feeling festive and the fake pumpkins are lacking, head to Trader Joes or your local grocery store and grab some mini pumpkins.

DIY That Sh/t

Girl, you have hidden talent just waiting to be used. And it all starts with some spray paint and the dollar store. A few years back when I was hosting my first Thanksgiving, I found these gold charger plates at the Dollar Store. I wanted them to be black, so I snagged 8 of them, used a can of black spray paint I already had and voila! $8 for the perfect backdrop for my place settings. In this place setting, the black looks great, but the gold totally would’ve worked if you aren’t feelin’ the urge to DIY. (Also loving these if you're looking for a more rustic touch)

The best part of these place settings are the plates. These white and gold paper plates are the star of the show! Yes, you read that right. P-A-P-E-R. Paper! Not only are they gorgeous, but because they are paper, you can just toss them in the trash after dinner. Aka NO. DISHES. I told you they were the star of the show!

Get That Convo Going!

There’s nothing more awkward than a silent family dinner. I know. I’ve experienced one. But that’s a story for another time, my friends. The point is, get that conversation going! Thanksgiving is the perfect time to reflect on things you’re grateful for. Grab this free printable set and take turns sharing what you wrote down. (Pro tip: make sure you write “family” if you’re sitting with your fam!) Bonus! Print the cards double-sided with a menu on the front and display the menu on their place setting. Adds a little extra something to your table!

Okay, now take a deep breath. You feelin’ a little better? It doesn’t have to be complicated! Simple, sophisticated, classy. And you’ll be wow-ing those guests in no time!
